Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)

Hello Horror Fans,

First, I'm going to explain (without spoilers) the show that is Black Mirror. It is basically a supernatural, futuristic 21st century version of The Twilight Zone. Each episode is a different story about something based in the future and revolving around technology. If you haven't seen Black Mirror, I recommend checking it out. Also I plan on doing a top 5 (maybe 10) of my favorite and must seen episode.

Now getting into Black Mirror Bandersnatch. It was a great movie and had a really catching concept.

The film is about a young programmer in 1984 decided to create a dark fantasy novel into a video game. As the movie progress, he begins to question reality in this mind-bending tale with multiple endings (Source: Netflix).

In my opinion this movie is all about the experience. It feels amazing to be able to pick and choose where the story goes. It reminds me a lot of the Playstation 4 game, Until Dawn; which was another interactive video game where you decide the ending. When that game came out, I wanted to see it turned into a movie so badly, because I felt the that it would give a different experience to the viewer.

Now that Black Mirror has come out with this movie, I feel this is the wave of the future and hopefully they continue in this formate. I do have one con about this movie. If you make a wrong "choose", it does send you back and redo the whole scene over again. So the movie does sort of restrict you to certain things, however it is still very enjoyable to navigate through the film. Also I feel like this occurs in the universe where the Video Game Crash of 1983 didn't happen; because in my opinion, they barely mentioned it.

With that being said, there is a bit of a problem with this. I don't know if you know this, but currently Netflix is being sued by a company called ChooseCo. Apparently, they have the rights to the phrase "Choose your Adventure" as well as the concept. Who knew someone ACTUALLY owned the rights to that...? It makes me wonder, did they get a kick back from the creators of Until Dawn?

Anyway, I do recommend checking out this movie. Personally I give it a 10/10, simply because it has a great concept that keeps you entertained.

I hope you all enjoy the movie. Also feel free to leave suggests of other movies you think I should check out!!
